Blueprints

For you to obtain a building permit for your construction project, (which all cities and counties require). You will need to have a complete set of construction drawings (blueprints) drawn up to explain in detail exactly what you are proposing to have done to your home.

There are (3) three different ways that you can go about this process:

1.  Hire an architect to make the construction drawings for you. This is probably the most expensive way of the three, being that they have a large office and overhead to pay for. If you do choose to go with this option, you will want to make sure that you find out if they have worked on many residential projects or do mainly commercial work. Find one who specializes in Residential work. They do tend to lean toward the more extravagant building designs, so if you were looking for something more in the ordinary category, then this probably wouldn’t be the option to take.

2.  Hire a residential building designer to make the drawings for you. This is the middle way to go as far as money is concerned, for they probably don’t have as big of office or staff to pay for. If you choose this option you will want to get a list of some of their more recent projects and go take a look at them and also call the customers to see if what was designed was truly what they wanted.

3.  Hire a General Contractor to make the drawings for you. This is the least expensive option of the three because they don’t have a design staff to pay for. A General Contractor who designs and builds the same project has an advantage over the other Contractors because he has built the home many times over on paper while designing the house. They will also be able to give you a closer estimate for they know every part that goes into your project and thus there won’t be any surprises that could cost you more money.

If you choose to hire Classic Construction Inc. to draw your construction drawing for you we emphasize the fact that we will design and draw only what you want and the way you want it to be done. Initially we will come to your house and listen to exactly what you want your new home to look like. We will take all necessary measurements of your existing home and then draw up some preliminary drawings showing your new changes. We will then meet with you again and show you the drawings where you can make any changes to them you want. We will then go back and draw them again and repeat this process until we have drawn exactly what you want your new home/addition to be like. Once we have gotten the preliminary drawings exactly the way you want them to be, then we will draw all necessary details i.e. (framing plan, foundation plan, roofing plan, etc.) to get through the building permit process. If the city or country requires more drawings, or clarification on any point, we will make the necessary changes for no extra charge. We will also continue this process until you get a building permit.

We try to make this process as easy on you as we possibly can and also as quick as we possibly can so that the building part of this process can proceed.
